What happens when I delete a task?

Most tasks can be deleted with no repercussions. The effect of deleting a task may differ according to the progress of the workflow and the type of activity.
  • Any task that has not yet commenced can be safely removed.
  • Any completed task can be safely removed.
  • Tasks for activities with single-step workflows can be safely removed.
  • Tasks for workflows that are in-progress can be removed without affecting the related record.
    • However, for transaction activities that support aggregation (i.e. payments, receipts and trust transfers), deleting an in-progress task will prevent the transaction from progressing to the next step of the workflow. This can be rectified by creating a new task or by deleting the transaction and re-posting it.
  • Deleting tasks relating to document workflows may result in the need to recatalogue the related document.
